Have you come across weight loss programs that promise amazing results in a super short amount of time? Have you been skeptical about them? Well, you’d be wise to question the claims that are made by a lot of companies that promote specific diets and weight loss plans, as they aren’t all genuine. For example, can you trust the promises made by 2 month weight loss programs?
You Should Keep an Eye Out for Scams
The unfortunate truth is that there are a surprising number of weight loss scams out there. They promise great things will happen to you, when in reality, they are selling harmful products or making unrealistic claims. If you come across a 2 month weight loss program, you should take the time to really analyze it to see if it is legitimate.
According to AARP, diet scams are at the top of the list of health care frauds that are reported to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Wow! The good news, though, is that there are ways to protect yourself.
Warning Signs That a Weight Loss Program or Product Can’t Be Trusted
Here are some of the warning signs to watch out for when you are looking into any weight loss program, even a 2 month weight loss program that might seem great at first:
- If the program claims that you will be able to shed a specific number of pounds every day, week, or month, it should not be trusted.
- If the program is described with words like “breakthrough,” “miracle,” etc., it is probably not trustworthy. And if the claims that are being made seem too good to be true, they probably are (e.g. you can shed pounds without changing the way you eat or exercise).
- If the 2 month weight loss programs claim you can lose weight by using a topical product, like a patch, lotion, or body wrap, don’t fall for it.
How Much Weight Can You Expect to Lose in a Couple of Months?
Two-month weight loss programs might make some fantastic claims, but the truth is that experts recommend slow and steady weight loss for the best, and most sustainable, results.
You should only expect to lose anywhere from 1 to 2 pounds each week if you are on a healthy track that includes eating right and exercising. Therefore, over the course of two months, you might lose anywhere from 8 to 16 pounds. That would be pretty incredible, right?
